Baby Moccasins

Lately I've been stuck on what to give as shower gifts. I know lots (and lots and lots) of people who either just had a baby or will be having a baby soon. I used to give adorable appliqued onesies but those have since caught on in my circle of baby-making friends and family. I think I finally solved my problem. Let me introduce to you my solution:

Yes, baby booties. I scoured the internet looking for the perfect (free) pattern and I wasn't able to find anything I was in love with. I finally broke down and *gasp* spent money on crochet patterns when I ran across this little shop. I may have gone overboard and bought 3 patterns. So far I've made the moccasins (aren't they so cute?!) and the two-strap mary janes and I can't wait to try the ankle boots (LOVE them!).

To go along with the mary janes I also made a cute little flower hair clip. Love the button center.

  1. I also bought a pattern back when emerson was first born. I was so in love with them, but alas, i still haven't made them. I started to a few times but for whatever reason the pattern confused me. sad day. I will have to pull it out and try again---I think I have a 9 month size so if I worked fast Emerson could still wear a pair...oohhh. You've got me motivated! I'm going to do that today.

Also, very cute baby gift idea...I'm glad you found a solution to your problem. And hey I think I now know how to make a "crafting slump" ...he he. little boots. =)

Thanks for visiting me the other day. I had a lot of fun going to lunch and learning to applique! I'm almost done with all 3 of my towels!

  2. Oh Jess! These are darling!! I love them:) Times like this, I wish I knew how to crochet/knit...I've tried before, but I don't think it's my craft, I can't ever seem to get into it:( These are just plain adorable though!

  3. Ooooo, these are the cutest little shoes I've ever seen and the tiny hair clip is adorable. You're very talented, although I can crochet and have for years with afghans and such, I've always had problems with tiny booties like these. They're never the same size..I can never get a pair to match. So I stopped..:). Your's are just the sweetest..
